Baccalaureate degree students may select a minor in a different field of study to complement their major. An academic minor allows students to expand their educational experience by exploring a particular subject or subjects in sufficient depth to gain competency. By completing a minor, a student can become familiar with an additional area of study which will supplement the expertise gained in the major.

The field of criminal justice is expansive and includes opportunities for employment in positions such as police officer, detective, criminal investigator, special agent, probation or parole officer, crime scene investigator, intelligence analyst, deputy sheriff, school resource officer, and border patrol agent. Earning the minor in criminal justice is geared toward helping students learn real-world skills that will help them advance in their careers.
