Catalog Full Description

The School of Business and Public Management seeks to offer a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree with an emphasis in Workforce Leadership and Management. The primary goal of the degree is to enhance the supervisory abilities of highly skilled technically trained individuals. The Bachelor of Applied Science provides a distinctive baccalaureate degree that builds upon the technical skills and knowledge acquired in an Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Applied Technology degree. Those completing the program will be prepared to competently and efficiently engage their chosen vocational field as not only highly trained technicians but also as effective mid-level general and operations managers.

In general, the B.A.S. degree offers career advancement opportunities for people who have earned the A.A.S. and A.A.T. career degrees. Students who have earned career associate degrees at units of the Technical College System of Georgia or at other regionally accredited institutions can transition to the program with relative ease. Completion of an A.A.S or A.A.T. degree results in the awarding of 18 hours toward Field of Study/Prerequisites and 18 hours of credit toward the area of supporting classes in the B.A.S. degree program. To complete the degree, students must complete a 30 credit hour Professional Course Core Curriculum, a 6 credit hour Capstone Site Project, and a 9 credit hour track.
